Co Yo was first introduced to me by a bunch of shirtless, 6-pack paleo boys. So I can’t say I was ever not going to like it.

They talk about food connecting us to memories, it seems every time I taste this uniquely rich but oh so nourishing creation I’m taken back to this special time, so to me it’s a food that just keeps giving.

Jokes aside Co-Yo, or coconut yoghurt, is a fantastic new age product that I urge you to try. If only I could fly in some shirtless 6 pack-boasting men to spoon feed it to you… then again you may be fine without such a spectacle. (Sorry dad)

There are a variety of companies producing this milk yoghurt alternative, but my first taste was with CoYo. It’s the kind of product that ticks too many boxes, it’s almost teachers pet in terms of nutrition.

It’s vegan, as the pro-biotic used are plant based. It’s dairy free, as they use the milk from coconuts (obvious but I thought I should mention it). Gluten free, sugar free and supposedly guilt free…. That is until you eat 10 tubs of the stuff because it tastes so good!

And with greatness comes versatility! I use coconut yoghurt in all kinds of ways. Swap it into your tandoori mix for a nutty flavour that will take your lamb chops to the next level. Lacquer it onto a cake for a creamy luscious icing. Barbeque some plum or peach cheeks and serve them with a bowl of the stuff and mint sprigs or eat it straight out of the pot. However you like!
